Website Woes….its finally up!
After almost 6 months of back and forth, up and down, the site is finally live! Boy has this been a long time in the making. I started this venture of creating my site back in October/November of 2025 and it is now April 2026, so you can say it’s taken a while. Sadly, the timing was very much out of my control because I had NO IDEA, I was being scammed. I mean scammed hard ya’ll. I’m pretty sure I uncovered a scheme put together by Wordpress and I want to expose it!
First, when you visit the site Freewebsiteguys.com you see that on the first page in all the description of what they do and offer, there is no mention that the site is going to end up on Wordpress. Only thing mentioned is you’ll have a professional site at “no cost.” Pfft, no cost to them at the end of the day, however you’ll end up spending more than $100 for a quality template, bluehost starter plan, and then not to mention the plugins…..oh the plugins.
If you know anything about Wordpress, it’s that it requires plugins for even the most basic of functions. Backups, SEO, error dumps, you name it…there’s a plugin for it and you have to have it or your site wont work. HOWEVER, here’s an even better itch to go with that scratch; the plugins don’t work half the time. So after you spend an hour or more on support chat trying to figure out why the same issue keeps happening all they can say is, the plugin did it, you have to talk to them. Well guess what….they want you to buy their subscription and it better be the best one or your site wont work.
SO what was supposed to be a website built for me free of charge turned into an almost $300 site in less than a year with NO SALES.
Freewebsiteguys and any other “free” site builder is most likely a bait and switch for the main company so don’t fall for it. I wanted to believe that they had my best interest at heart and were truly doing us all a service however Wordpress just sucks. If you like it and can use it more power to you. Don’t get me wrong either. I know how to use it. I just don;t have the money to support every single plugin they require for even just the about to load. I spent a week working on that page and because I only bought the start version of the backup and it filled up in ONE BACKUP and I LOST EVERYTHING……EVERYTHING. An entire weeks worth of work jsut gone.
Take this as a sign to not use that service. Save yourself the hassle.
